Bill Bailey is a comedy genius. I really admire the way he combines music and comedy so that they're great songs that happen to be funny. One of which, Dr Qui, his Belgian Jazz version of the Doctor Who theme, has stuck in my head since I first heard it many years ago. The first reason was that I'm a Doctor Who fan (and clearly, Bill is himself) and secondly, it's incredibley funny hearing about my favourite TV programme in French.

With the advent of YouTube, you can watch numerous clips of Bill performing his routines/songs. After looking for Dr Qui one day I found that none of the clips on there were scratch videos (as we used to call them) where you take clips from a programme or film and put together your own music video.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, ever since then I've toyed with the idea of making a 'video' for Dr Qui. This year my wife and I had a baby which meant I didn't have as much time to make a film for the Westlake Christmas party and so the idea to 'do' Dr Qui re-entered my mind. "It won't be as difficult," I said to myself. How wrong I was!

There are clips from 52 Doctor Who stories (and other things) that make up this video. When I showed it to non-fan friends they were amazed that I even knew which stories to get things that would match the lyrics. I spent two weeks thinking about what story would contain an element I needed and then another three weeks going through my DVD and video collection to get those clips. And then it took about another two weeks to edit.

So finally, Dr Qui has a video and here it is for you to enjoy. Funnily, I look at this as an unofficial tribute to Doctor Who for it's 45th Anniversary (since the BBC did nothing).

P.S. See if you can spot the cheeky references to who the next Doctor might be...
