We decided to make La Dette Des Remords very much on the spur of the moment the night before filming. Actually, no, that’s not strictly true – we knew we wanted to make something on the day of filming but we were not sure what.

So, at a party the night before filming we had a look around my living area to see what props and costume pieces we had access to. It soon became clear that we had props and costumes which would pass in a film-noir style film.

So, we decided to do a take on the foreign films that are often put into IAC film competitions. We set off to Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds on the day of the filming with no script, but that didn’t matter too much as most of the film noir stuff seemed to be plot-less!

As we filmed, we hammered out a rough plot in mind (which is entirely subjective with each viewers feelings!) The film was edited together with a monochrome tint over the months which followed and released! I hope you enjoy it.
