Westlake Films were commissioned to produce historical re-enactments for a TV series, Dynasties from The View from the North Productions to be shown on the History Channel UK. I was attending a media production course at the same time and had been given a video diary to make as a project. Thinking back to how the only ones I'd seen were on late night on BBC 2 as part of the Video Nation series. They usually consisted of people sitting badly framed in living rooms with poor sound. I intended to make mine a little more ambitious.... I think it was Kevin Hiley who suggested I make a little behind the scenes piece on our Dynasties work.
